The Carlsbad Hi Noon
Rotary Golf Tournament was started in 2003 for the purpose of raising
college scholarship money for deserving Carlsbad teens. In 2006 we added
a second beneficiary, Marines at Camp Pendleton through the Wounded
Warrior Foundation. Wounded Warriors is now very well funded, but we
found that there was a great need in helping our returning veterans get
started on their education, so we have partnered with Mira Costa College
to create a scholarship program for those veterans. We are now able to
help graduating High School students AND Marines enhance their
educations.
Hi Noon Rotary
volunteers organize and run the event. We are very proud that we have
been able to provide over $150,000 (and growing!) in scholarships so
far.
This year we are again
at La Costa Resort and Spa. Our guests will have a chance to play the
same course frequented by such golf greats as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold
Palmer, Tiger Woods, Lee Trevino, Gary Player, Tom Watson and others.
They will also enjoy an excellent dinner, wonderful tee prizes, raffle
and a chance at some awesome deals at auction. Best of all, our guests
will be helping “Teens and Marines” have a better life through a better
education.
